Thanks a lot, Paul, for playing those two tracks from Leon Ware! I love that album. The Arthur Prysock song was completely new to me, but what a great track to start the show with! I enjoyed every minute of the show, again a great selection of sophisticated soul songs. It’s fantastic how you can keep up this quality for more than four years!

Hi Eddy/Soulman

Thanks for your comments on the show – my role is the easy part, it is the hundreds of artists who have produced wonderful soul music that deserve the real credit – it is just fun helping to keep it alive

Best wishes

Fabulous Playmates – mid 80s tune (1985) on Select

From Groovecollector
“The Fabulous Playmates are a family act of three brothers plus one Raymond Simmons, conga drummer.
The group is a self-contained act of instrumentalists, vocalists, writers, producers and promoters from the west coast (San Francisco).
Raymond founded Select Records in 1981 with artists Masterpiece, Starlite, the Fabulous Playmates and The Original Ladies’ Choice where he has been the featured percussionist.

Hi Paul, I know I’m a week late, but what a great show 10th June show was. It had a real nice mid-tempo groove (which I love!) running throughout.
